A true friend for more than 55 years.
Laurence and I often laughed about writing a book one day, though we dismissed it as being unwise….
We will cherish the many memories and your generosity.
Rest in Peace old mate.

So sad to hear of Laurence’s passing, our thoughts and condolences to his family. Thank you for being a wonderful friend to Barry over the years and the great memories you both shared together. You had a subtle and quiet manner, with a cheeky smile and when you made a friend, it was for life!
I was so very sad and shocked to hear of Laurence’s passing. I will miss him enormously when I next come to Hawera. He was such fun. He and Lindy were such a help to Adrienne and me when our mother died in 2020. He took my late husband, Kevin, flying and for a drive in one of his cars another time when we were visiting Hawera. They had a lot of fun together. We enjoyed meeting up with Laurence and his mates at Roughies; it was something we always looked forward to when visiting Hawera. Laurence was fun, kind and generous. He was a dear friend who I will really miss. I would have loved to have attended his funeral today, but unable to. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this very sad time. Sending lots of love, Carole Kealy, Melbourne. RIP Laurence xx
