  4. Iris was one of a kind, a special friend I will never forget. She lived her life being deaf from 2 years old and yet she was amazingly talented in so many ways. I admired the many things she had sewn, knitted, and embroidered to perfection. I’m lucky enough to still have some of her work in my home today.
Her love of her garden especially the flowers called Irises.
She will be sadly missed by me and many.
Rest in peace, Iris, we loved you.

    For Iris
    Iris,
You were truly one of a kind — a wonder, a treasure, and one of the most genuine souls I have ever known. Your love was deep, steady, and kind in a way that made people feel safe and seen.
You welcomed me into your life not just as family, but as your own. You loved me as a mother would, and over time, you became not only my mother-in-law but my dear friend. Even as life changed, your love never did — and that says everything about the extraordinary person you were.
Your devotion to your grandchildren was unmatched. They were your pride, your joy, and you gave them a love that will stay with them forever.
I will carry your kindness, your warmth, and your enduring friendship with me always. The world feels quieter without you in it, but I am so grateful to have known your love.
I will miss you deeply, Iris.
    With love always,
    Claudia Hlais-Harrop
